Pop-Ups prompt lawsuit. Do You Get Them or
Do You Distribute Them?
You know the ones, stating that your PC is infected..
Prompting you to click in order to rid your PC of the so called "infections"
How many of us have been persuaded to click the link?
When you do, your PC is automatically scanned, Returning a report
showing all sorts of nasties inside. The scare is furthered by claiming
that in order to get rid of the infections inside your computer, you must buy the software presented.
It has been said that once someone has gone ahead and bought the software presented, claiming to rid your PC of the infections, suddenly, there are no more problems to be found.
Turns out it is a huge scam.
Thats right!
Microsoft is launching the lawsuits against the culprits behind these scams
designed to scare, snare, loop people into buying their bogus software.
Read all about it here:

Have you ever seen these crazy pop-ups? I have.
Have you ever clicked on them?
I have. Oh yes, I have. I have seen it at work.
Did you buy the software?
I didn't.
The reason is because I already have all that I need to keep my PC clean of infections and said problems.
For anyone who sees these pop-ups, Beware!
Go off line immediately if you feel that you may be infected and scan your computer with your anti virus. Be sure it is fully updated before you go off line.
It never hurts to have an anti spyware/maleware program that works for you too.
Employ all means, keep updated and scan frequently.
Remember to never have more than one anti virus loaded on your computer at one given time.

Hey,
Just yesterday my friend's computer got the "fake" antivirus and pop up thingy and can't remove it. It also installed some fake antivirus software which actually is a virus. The bad thing is that it also turns off your real antivirus so you can't scan your computer!

OMG, really?
This happened to my brothers families PC a few months back.
Good news is that it can be fixed, without formatting.
It took me three days but I got it off the computer.
I am sorry to hear of this.
Please read the article from the link in my discussion and pass it on to your family and friends.
Turn your Pop-Up blocker ON, via your browser.
Beware and Take Care.
Thank you for your response.

I've gotten them plenty! It does seem rather ridiculous when you think of the amount of so-called 'infections' they say our computers have. It always seems to be around the same amount, too!
Whenever one of those things would pop up, I asked my husband. He would always say no, close that pop-up and go to McAfee and run a scan from there. My computer always came out clean!
I'm so glad to hear that something is FINALLY being done about these scammers! I know that Microsoft will win; I just hope the scammers end up owing more than they'll ever make in their lifetime!

Well just know that as the article says, some of the culprits are hard to identify so don't be surprised if you still have the occasional one.
Best thing to do is to turn your Pop-Up blocker ON.
Thank you for your response!
