In September of 1971, I began my freshman year at what was then called Indiana Central College.
By the time I graduated in 1976, it had been promoted to Indiana Central University.
Because we were often confused with Indiana University by those who weren't that familiar with Indiana and its institutes of higher learning, it was decided, in the middle 1980s to change the name of our school to University of Indianapolis (U of I, for short).
We're still University of Indianapolis but now are known by a shorter name: UINDY
No matter which name you use, it describes a great school with wonderful people learning, teaching, and, otherwise, being a part of the campus.
My question?
Several...
First off, my time as a student was from 1971 to 1976.
Are there any people here who were students, faculty, employees, and/or family/friends of those who were during this time in the school's history? Drop by and visit this thread so that we can share memories!
People who were a part of ICC/ICU/U of I/UINDY during any other part of our school's history--and this includes students who haven't graduated yet and others who didn't hang around long enough to get a degree--please drop by here, too!
Let's make this a real Greyhound thread while we share memories, current events, etc.
