Connecting Wireless Router to Wired Router  email this discussion to a friend?

I have a huge task at hand.
A computer running XP Home.
Currently it is connected with a wired router to high speed ADSL.
The task is to set up a wireless router, running out from the wired router.
So far, I know that I can simply clone the mac address from the wired router to the wireless router so to eliminate having to call the ISP to register yet another mac address.
Question:
Is this the WAN or LAN mac address I will be cloning?
There is nothing else on the network but the one computer.
They just want it to be wireless.
Second question is setting up a secure connection.
I understand that WEP is the way to go?
How to I make an encrypted pass phrase?
Both routers are Linksys.
Any and all explanations would be very much appreciated.

Im really not sure about this, but i think you can simply attach the wireless router to the modem and call your isp and let the modem by configured and yeah wep is the way to go. For me, after i replaced my old router with a newer one, i simply called my isp and they let me keep my old passphrase. I hope this helped in any way.

Hi lakers247, thank you for your response. I want to connect the wireless router to the wired router that is connected to the modem. IE: Want to keep a wired connection as well as have wireless ability.
I appreciate your response. Thanks again.

Connecting wireless router is as simple as installing your windows operating system..i'm not that good in explaning and i suppose that to get the simplest form of this thing i prefer you to go and check google and type wireless router settings for dummies where you would get the best details..i bought the book itself so as to install it and installed and it was quiet easy for me since i had a good computer knowledge already...

Thank you for your response. The problem with the windows operating system is that it doesn't seem to want to keep the passphrase I am assigning as we want the connection to be secured.
I have checked many files on Google, thank you.
My last effort is to call the manufacture of the router, itself.
A book for dummies is a fabulous idea and am going to the book store in the next while. Thank you. I will check that option out.
Thanks again for stopping by.
