The pixels on an APS-H or APS-C camera are 4x larger than on a compact camera, A full-frame Sensor considerably larger pixels again. They have more space between them, generate less heat and less signal noise and offer incredible quality compared with their smaller cousins.
There are other factors too, but enough to say, don't judge a camera by its pixels!

3.  Chispa514 (598) | 12 months ago |  Mine is a sony cybershot its only 5.1 mega pixels, and it takes amazing pictures and really good video. Its not the best and I know there's better out there, but I have yet to find a camera that doesn't blind me when the flash goes off, except mine.
With mine I can take a pic right infront of my eyes close up, and i don't blink or close my eyes, but with any camera i've seen with anything higher than 6 megapixel, the flash is so bright it makes me blink or close my eyes and the pics always end up messed up cuse of it

| 6. Davidarich (766) | 12 months ago | THe Sony Cybershots are quite a nice line of cameras. The high pixel count is starting to degrade the images and slow processing time on the 12 Mp line, but they are not bad for what they are.
I am presently using a 15,1 Mp DSLR, backed up by an 8Mp DSLR and a 7 Mp compact.
I have no leaning towards one company over another...depends on the camera and what it is to be used for. | |

i have been using sony cybershot dsc s650 for the past 1 year and more. Itz 7.2 megapixel. ITZ GOOD. i like it. and i never found any complaint till now. good luck with your new camera:)
