I admit I did not like it too much, I was a different person and I was also a little rebellious, not because I wanted to be. I guess I tried to hard to fit in, you know at that point in time kids want to be noticed and loved and recognized for what they do. I wanted that too, unfortunatly for me a lot backfired. I was the kid who got picked on, with a very select few, of friends. I think what I did get out of my high school experience was that people are not always what they seem, some grow up faster than others, some don't, some are scared. I was the scared one, I did my best, but I also tried to hard, now that I'm much older I love that I am more independent. As for fond memories, unfortunatly I have none.

Hold on to the fact that each person is unique and no one can really do what you can. You're special just by being who you are. You don't have to be popular or be part of high society to make a difference in the world. You just have to be you. (This was what my mom told me and I believe her. That's why I don't mind those popular groups. I am special in my own way.)

3. hey_baby (382) | 1 year ago | when i was in high school i belonged to the 'less popular/invicible ones'. i was so shy then. looking back there are a lot of things i would have changed. i should not have been intimidated by other popular girls, whom i thought then was so cool and pretty but snobby. i consider myself average student, but if i wasnt so shy then, i'd be in honors class. i should have recited and participated more.
now our batch has this e-group thing. i am a member, but i don't participate in their conversations & get togethers. my few close friends back then i've lost in touch with and are not in the egroup. I wanted to join them in reunions but i'm thinking when i'm there i might get invicible again.
oh well.. things you have to live with..

bubblyapple (1412) | 1 year ago | Yeah, sometimes the feeling of insecurities are still there. What I usually do is tell myself that I've gone a long way since then. I have attended several get togethers already and I would say those have been good experience as well. People change and most of us are mature individuals already so we have already let bygones be bygones.

4. tooincome (329) | 1 year ago | my highschool experiences were great. i really enjoyed being part of the school basketball team and going to the rallies. although i was a "jock," i did spend a lot of time in the school library during brunch and lunch to catch up on some homework and to get a few naps in:P. the thing i missed most about high school are the dances, the rallies, all my friends at the time, and always being home by 1pm during my senior year

bubblyapple (1412) | 1 year ago | That's good. Thanks for sharing. I missed going to the dances too. When we were in senior year, all of us looked forward to Senior Day- that's what we call our dance then. I'm not sure if everyone had a great time, but I know I did!

bubblyapple (1412) | 1 year ago | It's good that you have sweet memories. As you can read from the responses here, not everyone has. Mine is more of a combination of good and bad memories.
