Mayor Shelia Dixon Indicted on Felony Theft and Bribery Charges

Baltimore City's Mayor, Shelia Dixon was elected to office as a democrat and Baltimore's first black, women mayor. Historically, that was a boon for Baltimore, but now Mayor Shelia Dixon is in the news for indictment charges of felony theft and bribery charges. She was given a total of $1500 in gift cards for electronic stores and stores such as Target. They were supposed to go to the needy of Baltimore, but she was caught giving them away to friends, staff and spending them on herself for a gaming system, games and music at Best Buy. She was also charged with bribery that involved her taking bribes from a Baltimore developer that was granted contracts for construction projects and given the tax breaks to do so. What does she have to say or how has she reacted to all of this? In a meeting yesterday at City Hall, that was an open meeting, she barred the news media from the room. She had some escorted out of the building. After many of the reporters began text messaging other members of the council to get them back into the room, Dixon acquiesced. As the media was returning to the room she flipped them the bird. I should be fair in adding that she did it as she was pushing her glasses back up her nose. If anyone heard Jay Leno's take on this, he said that she now can either become Mayor of Detroit or Governor of Illinois
