My daughter started kindergarten this year, and she is required to wear a uniform. I HATE them. It cost us over 100 dollars to get her enough uniforms for week, and they're all too big for her anyway. We have to get pants or skirts with an adjustable waist because my daughter is so tiny, and even then they are huge on her. They don't save us money on clothes, because we already HAD clothes for her - normal clothes, and plenty of them - and they actually FIT. I can understand middle schools and high schools wanting uniforms, especially because once you reach middle school, peers tend to have negative reactions to kids who don't dress a certain way, but in kindergarten? Not to mention the uniforms are REALLY easy to find at the beginning of the year, but if she ruins an outfit and needs another uniform, I can't find any in her size right now. Pain in the @#!. Not a fan in this case.

I also wanted to add that another problem with uniforms is that I have to keep careful track of them, because there have been morning that I've woken up and realized that my daughter doesn't have any clean uniforms, since she didn't tell me the previous morning that she had put on her last one. Yes, I need to keep better track, but if she wasn't in uniforms, it wouldn't be an issue at all - her red shirt is dirty? Okay, wear your High School Musical shirt. No big deal. But with uniforms, if they're all dirty, I better pray there's even one that doesn't have paste or paint on it.

Honestly, since I'm still in school, I know I don't want them but I can't give any good reasons not to. They're just not any fun. Clothes give people something to talk about. But I mean, I guess it would be easier in a sense that if the uniforms look bad on one person, they will probably make everyone look bad. However, since I don't really go places outside of school very often, I would probably have little use for "real" clothes.

I think school uniforms are great. I wish my son would have had to wear them when he was in school. It would have made things so much easier all the way around.

My son has a school uniform and it is so much easier, when he was at preschool he cold wear what he wanted and it was a nightmare getting him ready every morning, now he is at primary school he has to wear a uniform and I think it is much better, they look smarter and it is easier than putting them in their own clothes every day! I am def for uniforms!!!
