How do you check yourself if you're infatuated or in love?

I have read something general about infatuation and love. I read that infatuation is when: - the nature of attraction is physical - it's about the physical contact - the romance developed fast, hours or days - there are high and lows - it keeps you consumed - it has destructive effect on you - the relationship ends fast - you ignore realities Whereas love: - you are attracted to the total personality - you control physical contact - the romance evolved slowly, it took time to grow - it doesn't have a destructive effect on you - you are more realistic - motivates you to be better - works through distance I never really gave these much thought when I'm attracted to another person. Do you check yourself if you're just feeling infatuation or love? How sure are you that it's what you feel? So does this bring us to the conclusion that love at first sight isn't really love? Hmmm..

T_T Well you didn't have to answer anyway. Plus I'm curious and I want to know what other people think.

Well, i too have never thought too much on that! but i did know one thing for sure that when you are in "Love" you dont ever search for love in any other person BUT when you are infatuated you can possibily search for love or any other things of intrest in a relation in any other person. And i have never checked myself on being infatuated with somebody. A very nice and intersting question!!

That's a nice way of putting it. It does make sense because when you're truly in love, why search for another partner? I'm having difficulty checking myself though. Just now I thought of it.
