Sad day to me :(  

Sorry to here you are feeling down . I lost my dad 11 years ago . I prefer to keep to the memories that are in my head rather than looking at old photos - far less painless

yeah, everytime i see pictures of my uncle who passed away two years ago i feel sad as well. its easy to feel sad about our loved ones who passed away because we miss them so much. but it's also good to celebrate their life and their accomplishments. i usually get together with my cousins and we talk about our uncle and all the memories that we share of him. usually that helps makes us feel better. maybe it can do the same for you. hope you feel better

you are in my prayers. I haven't lost a parent, but I did lose my grandparents. My grandmother's death anniversary will be 5 years tomorrow. She died on January 16, 2004. I have an idea of some of the sadness. She didn't make it to my wedding. I wish she had. She would have loved my husband.

My mom died in 2001. I know what you mean. My mom was in a wheelchair at my wedding. I will say one thing to you about this. The longer you look at those videos and pictures, the longer it is going to hurt. I haven't looked at a picture or video of my mom in years. I have one hanging in my living room, but it is just there. I have it hanging in an area of the living room that I never pay any attention to. My dad has since re-married, but there are still pictures of my mom in parts of his house. My step-mom has no problem with this. She honors my mom's memory. However, I still don't spend time looking at those pictures when I go home for a visit. My memories of her are in my head, and those are the only videos of her I need to see. Not looking at those videos or pictures does not mean that you don't love or miss your mom. No one or nothing can take that away from you, but leaving those pictures and videos in the closet will certainly make it easier for you to deal with the pain of losing her.

I am so sad to hear that, my friend! I am very thankful though that you have lots of good memories of her and that you are not too sad to think about them.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, and that you're not feeling well. It's never easy to remember the loved ones that we've lost. I hope you feel better soon.

Bless you! My mother is still living at almost 92. But my Dad passed away 17 1/2 years ago. And it was very sad for me many years. But I learned to dwell on the good memories rather than on his death which helped tremendously. Think back on the good times you and your mother had and reflect on those.

I know it is a sad day for you. Just try to remember the good times you had with your Mom. December 18th was the 11th death anniversary of my daddy's death. There are times that he should be here with us and other times it seems such a long time ago. Sometimes, I too, get really sad when I think of something that happened when he was alive and I cry. It is just a memory but it takes my breath away like it is happening all over again. My boyfriend died in 2003 and that has been hard to deal with also. You won't every get over it but as time goes by it gets a little easier to deal with, but it never goes away.
