Internet Browsing screws up the computer; virtually! |
| |
| It is one problem that i have always had with my computer since the last 10 years. And now i have got so bugged up with this problem that i have separate PCs for working and internet browsing. The problem that i have faced while internet browsing is, that no matter how good a virus protection software you might be having on your computer, these invisible code worms just seem to creep in somehow. And they have so many kinds; gosh, trojans, trojan horses, spywares, viruses, bla-bla-bla. And once these crawly creeps sneak into your system, they slowly it down to almost a pedestrian's pace really. Despite of the fact that you might be having dual core or a quadra core; the system's performance is reduced down to almost a 286. And especially for these anti-virus programs, i have a feeling that they have their own agents who design these creepy worms for them, so that their Anti-virus software could find harrowed users on the Internet. Although the technology in computers has really come of age; i still feel that safe internet browsing is one area which has not been thoroughly addresses till now. | | | | | |

| | you may not have your firewall protection on... or your anti-virus is weak... they say that the ones who are making those viruses are the ones who created the anti-virus software to be able for them to gain more client through the internet world and computer technology.. try to change your anti-virus software do not purchase just try the trial period. currently I am using bit defender security suite 2009 and it works well. . | | | | | | |

| | May be; but don't you think that firewall makes the PC a lot slower in response as you have frequent interruptions; with annoying messages popping up in the middle of a serious and engrossing work. Although i have installed firewall protection in my PC, but sometimes it becomes so annoying that i am forced to turn it off. | | | |

| | This seems a nice one to me. Although i do have this system by which i make a ghost of computer in the healthy stage and keep it in DVD. In the course of internet usage and system functioning; if i find at a later stage that my computer has slowed down, i run the ghost and restore the PC to its healthy state. Apart from that, as i have stated earlier, i have 2 PCs; one for browsing internet, and the other for doing my work, and this has by far seemed the best solution to me because of the data loss incurred during ghost restoration on PC. But your suggestions are indeed very valuable; and i will try to incorporate them in the future. Thanks for sharing this information; your contribution is highly appreciated. | | | |

| | It seems that Your solution of keeping one pc for non internet use only might be the only true way of keeping a pc in "virgin" condition. I have tried many free wares myself over the years including Kaspersky and AVG with some success but since I changed to Vista I find the inbuilt defender more than adequate so far. Even so, I have installed Ubuntu as a dual boot configuration and try to do all my surfing fron Linux, so far so good, fingers crossed . | | | | | | |

| | Thanks a lot for the comments friend! Even i have thought of switching over to Linux, but around me here in Delhi, we don't have 2 many Linus Users; rather people are unaware of this OS. That's wgy i have to contend with WIndows at the moment; and keep the 2 PCs for smooth functioning of my work. | | | |

| | That's not what i think ..I've been using the same Pc for 2 years and i haven't encountered a single problem..I bet you don't use a proper firewall or a original copy of an anti virus/antispyware..If you do then i guess there's a problem with your O.S...try reinstalling windows OR i you keep a lot of system data try using a system backup and always keep on the system restore option in your o.s settings | | | | | | |
