Many people are wondering if Incoming first lady Michelle Obama will be the next Jackie Kennedy. "What the first lady wears has a lot of effect on the industry, absolutely," said Arnold Scaasi, who began designing clothes for the wives of American presidents during the term of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The first lady, Scaasi said, "is seen every day in some form of media, and what she looks like is copied by other women."
Michelle Obama already set off a shopping frenzy, when she wore a $148 dress from the label White House Black Market on "The View". Viewers hit the store in droves.
So what do you think? Will Michelle Obama be the next fashion icon?

She will influence some women, but there are many she will not influence.

Yes, I do think that she will influence fashion. It sounds like she has already had quite an influence on fashion in America, even before officially becoming the first lady! She is such a public figure now, that I think she will continue to be influential in the fashion world.

I think you are right in saying that Michelle Obama will infulence American Fashion. That is with the middle aged ladies, not those in their 20's. I think she has a great sense of style. She always looks put together and great.
