Decorate your own jeans

I have been wanting to go to the Thrift Store to get some cheap jeans, then getting some embroidery floss, maybe some beads, and making my own custom "designer" jeans.
Has anyone done this?
I also thought that maybe I could find some in various sizes, decorating them and listing them on Etsy.com. I don't know how much someone would pay for something like that but I thought of listing them at $25-30 or so and see what happens

I've thought about it, but I'm not very artsy. I don't know if they'd sell online, but I'm certain they'd sell in a resale shop. Or maybe a garage sale? I would think it would be very profitable. Teenagers are always wanting to look classy. My daughter goes to great lengths to find jeans with designs on them.
