I have great expectations for him as the Mad Hatter and I really hope he fulfills them. He plays such an array of characters that I think he'll make this movie a hit. I'm excited!

I would suggest checking out his role as Ed Wood. That was yet another side of Johnny Depp that most people don't get to see because the movie isn't as well known as his others.

And... Ed Wood is yet another Burton-Depp pairing. Such an amazing team, they really are great together.

haha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is super excited about this!! I agree with you that Anne Hathaway isn't exactly the most talented of people. Hopefully Burton won't let her fail at being the White Queen. Crispin Glover, huh? Not too familiar with him but I do recognize the name. He must be an understated actor. I think Stephen Fry and the Cheshire Cat might be a mistake. He's funny and everything, I'm not denying that, but I don't know if he has the same personality as the Cheshire Cat. Crispin Glover is most recognizable as George McFly from the Back to the Future trilogy. He was also Willard in the movie of the same name. He's done other stuff too but those are the ones that always seem to get the most recognition.

He's very good at creepy! (See: Willard, guy with rats for friends) Which kind of makes me wonder why this is his first foray into Burton-dom.... and in verifying that fact I was reminded he was also in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, to take bring this conversation back around to Johnny Depp.

I do think HBC is interesting, but I thought she was a bad choice for Sweeney Todd. She really doesn't sing well, and there are a couple of songs that require a great voice (don't worry, I didn't think Angela Lansbury was very good either... But Patti Lupone was fantastic!).

It seems Tim Burton has been hiring Danny Elfman exclusively as of late (I'm a fan, so I am not complaining!). It was an educated guess.

Johnny Depp has been in the most Burton films of any actor with HBC one behind him. Counting Alice in Wonderland, Depp has been in 7 and HBC 6 - 4 of those they were in together (Alice, Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). And I've seen all of them LOL

I couldn't imagine Burton choosing anyone but Danny Elfman to do the music. It wouldn't be right without Elfman's specialized sound that we've come to expect.
