Have you ever been anywhere that changed your view of the world? | | | | About 5 years ago I was involved with/engaged to a young man who lived in Texas, while I lived in Colorado. He spent a couple of weeks with me in my apartment during our relationship and I spent a couple of weeks with him in Texas. One week at his parents' house and one week in his college dorm room He was attending college in Austin at the time and so we spent a great deal of our time there and I have wanted to go back ever since. I absolutely fell in love with the city and felt more at home there than I had ever felt anywhere in my life. Austin is a huge musician and artists' town and I have a whole plethora of plans for when I get there. I don't care if I'm 60 when it happens! Have you ever been anywhere that had this kind of effect on you? | | | | | | | | | | Sutherland Felt Company Leading producer of industrial wool, polyester, and die cut Felt www.sutherlandfelt.com

| | Not in the same manner. A couple of years ago during an immersion program for a Theology course, my group was sent to live for a few days with a certain sector of the society - the disabled orphans. They weren't only disabled, they were also orphans! It seems like even their own families didn't want them. It changed my perception of "the poor" - it's not what you don't have materialistically (although they don't any to spare either), but it's the lack of love that you receive from mankind in general. Ever since then, I've never said "it can't be worse than this" - because in some part of the world, it is. | | | | | | | ktosea (1291)

| | I don't really see it as blaming God - actually, it's a religious sector (Non-Government Organization) that takes care of them. The people who love God found so much love that they wanted it to share to people whom they know would never be able to repay them in any possible way. I'd rather blame the government for spending so much on less pressing matters than on the health and welfare of its people - both able and disabled. | | | | | | | Apartment To Rent Hate Renting? | | Ive never felt it the same way as you, but a totally different way of viewing the world. I visited an old peoples home, old people who were left to the care of others by their children because they were too busy to look after them. One of them said, I raised 3 kids in a 2 room flat, and my children cant keep me with them in a 4 bedroom flat. It broke my heart, seeing the lost look in their eyes. They were sooo happy to have me visit them. Nobdy every visits us, was their lament. The love and affection that they bestowed on me was amazing. And children are losing all this because of their selfishness. I hated them at that moment. It was then that I changed my view of the world. I thought the world was a better place, but after that visit, I feel the world has a lot to change, for the old, neglected and orphans. | | | | | | | crimsonladybug (2536)

| | My mother works for Hospice, going into people's homes to care for them. Before that she worked in a nursing home and saw that kind of heartbreaking situation all the time, where families couldn't be bothered to visit their parents/brothers/sisters...whoever it was that was living there. I think that is why she finds the Hospice work so rewarding. The people are terminal but they are, mostly, happy, they are in their home, they are comfortable, and, for the most part, they are either living with their families and those who are not are visited regularly. | | | | | | | Free Apartment Search Search Local Apartments For Rent. | | Yes. I visited a guy friend :0(not anything else!) in Utah. I drove around for awhile while he was busy at work. I saw the most beautiful mountain. It was very far in the distance, but it was purple in that light. With a snow capped top. It was quite the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I would love to live in the state, and just worship those mountains... Climbing them might be fun too! | | | | | | | | | | The Felt Store Raw Materials and Great Gift Ideas Cork.Neoprene.Craft.DesignerFelt www.thefeltstore.com | add comment | | | |

And have a nice day! | | | | | | | | | | Corporate Housing Find Housing, Furnished Apartements, and Other Short Stay Options reliantworldwide.com | add comment | | | |

| | Oh I loved Austin. I lived there for almost 4 years. Great great city. I really miss it there and would love to move back. One of the most open minded cities I have ever lived in, and laid back. Met the most pagans there too, more then anywhere else. And no one cared that you were pagan, well most people anyway lol, but didnt stare or anything like people do in other places. Loved the music there. Would have to say austin did that for me, specially moving from california lol. Though of course got stared at for that, until my girlfriend at the time, who is a texan, talked lol. Her family live up by Dallas, and for thanksgiving, after moving there, we were going up there, got a blow out on I35, changed the tire and limped into Waco, well one place was open, I started talking and the guy just stared at me, so she did and he immedietly was all nice and helping lol. | | That's something I thought was funny in Austin (and Corpus Christi which is where the exes parents live)....no accents. They don't talk like Texans, except the ex called me darlin' instead of honey or baby, which I thought was kind of cute. He also called me something in Spanish (his parents were first generation Mexican American, both sets of grandparents were immigrants) that he said loosely translated to cute but there was no literal translation that he was aware of. Whoops! Tangent...lol But yeah, that open-mindedness was part of what I fell in love with. I grew up in Colorado so Denver was my only real "big city" experience for most of my life and it is not like that at all. Lower downtown (LoDo) is but the rest of the city is kind of stuffy and uninviting. | | | | darkjedi (4347)

| | Hmmmm didnt think about that, yeah nobody had accents except for people that hadnt lived there long lol. I once heard someone talking like Boomhauer though lol. Hell tangents are cool, no problem lol. Yeah where I grew up in california it wasnt like that at all either, hell I dont think any place but austin is like that lol. Memphis is cool but not as cool as austin. | | | | | | | President Lowers Mortgage If you owe under $729k you probably qualify for the Govt Refi Program. www.MortgageRatesExperts.com | add comment | | | |
