If your house or office is not on a floor which is very high, and you just have to walk up 4-5 floors to get there, would you still prefer to use the lift or would you rather walk up via the staircase? Don’t you think it is a good exercise walking up instead of using the lift? I am sure all those who walk up the stairs would be remaining healthy and fit.

I'd rather take the elevator instead of the stairs. I don't have an issue going up one or two flights of stairs but I really hate having to climb up 3+ flights to get to where I'm going. Plus, it's just easier to use an elevator when you're carrying a heavy bag or something.

When I was well, I'd always try and use the stairs rather than the lift. In my last job, I'd always use a bathroom on a different floor so that I could get the extra exercise!
Now that I have M.E. and other ailments though, I don't have much choice other than to use the lift. :(

I prefer the stairs whenever it is possible to use them, like when I am not carrying 10 bags of groceries with me. If office buildings, I prefer the lift because I usuualy am there for a business meeting and want to arrive fresh, not out of breath. LOL
