Do you go handing your photo albums to guests to keep them entertained?

Hello aiza! I guess calling you aiza is better. At first, I am not really fond of having an album, until I got married. I want to treasure all our memories together especially the time that my husband and I are together. To the places where we travel together and all the happy things we did. By the way, did I tell you that my mom's name is theresa?

I just realized that now. Anyway, so do you let your guests see your pictures to keep them entertained? I mean a lot of Pinoys do that.

Hi there. Well, I think my parents practiced that when I was younger and it had always been quite an embarrassing experience on my and my sister's part. It's good that my parents have grown out of it as we grew older. I never saw the point of it, though. I think giving our guests some reading materials (e.g. newspapers, magazines, etc.) or giving them free reign over the TV remote would entertain them more than our family pictures. And yes, I also agree with one commenter that pictures should be shown to guests only if they explicitly request to see them. It would save you a lot of trouble and embarrassment if your guest would seem uninterested, after all.

*lol* at the narrator bit. (LOL) And the hardest part is trying to appear interested to your "narrator.

hi nekon, LOL, thank God our household is considerate enough by not showing the photo albums unless the guests requested for it. It's embarrassing when somebody sees me in my diaper years. Once, I visited a house where I was bombarded with more than a dozen of photo albums complete with a narrator beside me. My, I went there early morning and went home past lunch. Tsk tsk tsk...there must be a law against that. LOL

I am not entertained browsing pictures of people I don't know and I don't want to impose anything so I don't usually hand photo albums to my guests. I think I only bring out some of my photo collections or open my PC for pics if my visitor is interested in particular person or something that is in my albums. Oh, while answering this, it occurred to me that this is a "girly" thing. I remember that it's always the women that brings out the pics just to entertain their visitors. Guys bring pics to add color to the discussion/topic going on.

Shhhh....ahaha, i wish there aren't any feminists around. They'd surely puff out steam reading your response. They seem to be so hyper about almost anything even in simple stereotyping. But that had me wondering why you thought it that way coz the last person who handed me a photo album was a guy. And now Im starting to doubt if he's really "a guy", basing upon your observation. Lol

Hi melvill, yeah, a lot of Filipinos do that. But I don't know, we don't do that. We barely have any photos to shag around anyway. So, no, we don't do it unless the gues would request to see our albums. Not like we serve them like snacks. Oh, we do serve snacks, hot bread and 1 liter coke! Way to go! Mabuhay!

Yes, I usually hand over to my guest so they could do something while waiting for food. It is also to entertain them and to boast about past pictures, like awards..lol...or pictures when you had a slimmer figure, or just showing off the happy times with your family. And the albums usually stay at the sala or living room where visitors could browse over them.

No, I never entertained my guests in the house with my photo album, I just keep all my photo albums in my room but if my friends ask for it then I will let them see it. But my younger brother has a fearless habit of showing off our pictures from the album to our guests, that's why when I know that we have an upcoming visitors especially during fiesta, I quickly hide all our albums in the house.LOL!
