Though I always say that I am not a fan of Angelina Jolie, I find her very effective in her role as Lara Croft and did justice to the film. But now it is being announced that she no longer the production choice to do a remake. If not she, then who will portray the role of a tomb raider?

Another Tomb Raider movie? Angelina was good as Lara Croft but the movies were really bad. especially second one. If this is a remake and not a sequel, maybe they'll make it right this time.

i'm not much of an angelina jolie fan either, but she does fit the role for lara croft. i remember first playing tomb raider series and when i found out that there was a movie, i was amazed how similar the characters looked alike. i don't know who else could fit that role any better. angelina has the skin tone, the hair, and the voice to do it.

Is this a remake or another sequel? I guess the point of a "remake" would be to let another actress and another director have a go at it and see what they can do with what they are given. But if it is another sequel, I think it is a very big mistake to cast someone else in the role. One thing that annoys me more than most is when they take a movie, recast it with totally new people, change a few details in the plot and call it a sequel. There are several instances of this that leap to mind but one recent one is Wargames 2. It is nearly the same plot as the 1983 version, replace nuclear war with terrorist attack and you have Wargames 2. That is not a sequel that is a remake with a slight plot change to appeal to modern audiences. And fifteen years later, it's a remake. There's really no other way to look at it and calling it a sequel is dumb.
