I think it's a very cool song. My nephew who is only two years old, loves rocking to this Deep Purple song. It's just so catchy and loud, I bet if you haven't heard of the title, you would still know this song because you might have heard it somewhere. Why don't you listen to this YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgZSnAkQc4c That's the song I'm talking about.

i think the song is timeless, for me it never gets old and still is heavy compared to the growling noise that bands try to put out today, your 2 year old nephew is one rocker! hehehehe

He really is. He likes headbanging more than anything. I guess he got it from his rocker chick mom. :)

I think Highway Star could be one of the heaviest songs during the time it was on rotation on the radio's playlist. I first heard of it when i saw this Shell commercial with Highway Star at their main music. It was heavy alright and at my early age i was headbanging a little bit and i got curious with the song. There's really not much resources before unlike today. The song is a classic now. There's this album from Deep Purple i think, when played from start to finish, it kind of integrates a movie. I'm not sure if the movie is Wizard of Oz or someting.
