Is the Sims a laptop-friendly game? |
|
My fairy godmother's been a nice person to buy us up the entire collection of the Sims, really. The only problem is that we don't own a desktop computer, so we once tried to install it in the laptops. THE GAME CRASHED. It felt heartbreaking 'cause the PC series was the one I preferred, to be honest. Now all we can do is play it on the XBOX, which is now obsolete. Hmph.
Have you tried installing the Sims in your laptop? Did it run?

It will run on a 512mb RAM but the recommended is at least 1 gig. You also need to have a good graphics card. A lot of the newer laptops have powerful onboard graphics accelerator. But you need at least 128mb of dedicated graphics memory, especially if you're running Sims 3.

| 3. luckyluke02 (1) | 11 months ago | It runs ok on my laptop but i had to change some things to make it run better because my laptop is on vista so i had to right click the desktop icon and press run as xp service pack 2 and it run a lot better than vista you can also try increase your virtual memory by opening control panel going to classic view opening system then advanced and settings in the performance settings advanced then virtual memory and press change depending on the hard drive space put aroun 5000mb in there then it should run smooth.hope this helps.

6. elitess (2655) | 11 months ago | Hi there Chance. There is a real possibility that you computer does not have enough resources of one kind (or more) to support the game. You should take a look at the system requirements the game was provided with, and compare with what you have (Processor speed, Ram memory, Video Card)

7. playwright82 (130) | 11 months ago | I didn't have a problem with The Sims on my laptop until my disk drive broke. There must be something on your computer that is not compatable with the game. You might want to check the system settings on your laptop and update them or get a new one. Just a thought.
