Have you ever tried to find a location only to be completely lost?

I get lost all the time. I am so horrible when it comes to directions. I always have to stop somewhere to ask someone how to get to where I am going. I just bought a new cell phone that has a gps. it has been a real life saver. I don't know what I would do without it.

It happened to me last week, actually. My friends and I were planning to go to this restaurant in a part of the city that none of us had ever been to. Mind, you, this was really late into the evening (around 8 PM) and freezing. We walked around for hours and couldn't find it at all, and nobody we asked knew what we were talking about.

Unfortunately, yes, that has happened to me several times. There is a very large town not too far from here. While I can get to the town and it's hospital, if I need to go anywhere else, I get badly, scarily lost. I do carry a street map but, that doesn't help when there are a heap of one-way streets and traffic is so heavy that you just have to keep driving. Now, I rely heavily on Google maps to locate the place I need before I leave home. I LOVE Google Street View because I can pick out landmarks and actually SEE the place I need to go before I have even left home. On GPSes, a man turned up on my doorstep last week because his GPS had told him it was where he needed to come to. Since I live in a small community, surrounded by sugarcane paddocks and nothing else, and the street he needed was in a different town 20 kms away, GPSes aren't infallible. I'm with you on that. I had to find the place I was going to be working at and the Map Quest directions were not complete, there was a side street that it didn't tell you about, I got so frustrated that I went back home and looked it up again. GPS is good but you could call the placement place and ask them the best way to get there.
