which mp3 player

Well, you are right, there are a lot of companies out there that manufacture and sell mp3 players of various capacities and styles. It all comes down to what you expect out of the mp3 player. Do you intend to exercise while listening to it? Do you want to put every single song you have onto it? Do you want to put it comfortably into your pocket while you are walking around? How much money are you willing to spend? Do you want a rechargable or do you like to use batteries?

As a rule of thumb, i like to check out the stores and see what brands the store offers and at what price and capacity. Players now adays range from 256mb to 80 gb+. Smaller players like those produced by Sony and Sandisk (my personal non apple brand for players) tend to have lower capacities usually up to 8gb. But the pro there is they are pocketsized, easy to use, and use batteries so you know approximate battery life. The larger capacities are the more expensive kinds like the Ipod. They have a slew of features now adays and even more accessories. If you are a real music fanatic then the IPod is the way to go because you can literally store almost all of the music you have in that little thing.

So my final verdict/advice is consider getting a cheap 1-2gb sandisk or an Ipod depending on your preferences. Hope this helps.
