Okay, talk about seriously scary. It was 1998, and I worked in a call center. There was a tornado watch warning in our city for that day. And then it happened, our Supervisor, called everyone into the stairwell, the power with out. And then the tornado that was outside, hit the corner of the building we were in and then went on up the street.
It was electrifying truly, and we didn't waiting in that stairwell for hours on end it seemed. But that was it, you could see the damage to the corner of the building after everything was over with. It look like a huge flat iron was slammed into the side of the building. A few trees were down, traffic lights were down, etc...
Thank God, there was no damage to my car or any of the cars of the people that worked in our call center that day.
Do you have any experience with Tornados like Dorothy did in the movie the Wizard of OZ?

Nope I have never been through a tornado nor do I ever want to be. Here in Alberta, Canada we get a lot of them but I have never been in one thankfully. I have gone through a tsunami warning when I lived on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and a warning is scary enough for me.

Good for you, bad for Canada. Wish we didn't have to deal with such destructive phenomenon.

At least we can pray for those that do go through that no hurt harm or danger comes neigh them and that God will keep this safe, no matter if the storm damages the home or other personal belongings.

I have been through more than I care to remember in my life. Part of living in the Midwest I guess. The closest one to me took out our neighbors fence and knocked down huge trees all over our block. Luckily we suffered no damage although the house was really shaking. We have had some that have done a lot of damage in our city and area but I can not remember any, especially recently, where anyone lost their life thank goodness.

You can always move east?! Good to hear no damage to your residence! Bad news for the city, but good time for them to give the city a bit of a face lift!

I have been close to a few but never in one, thank God.. There was one that hit very, very close just after my son was born and I was at home alone with him.. It was very scary and I was still very sick from the c-section and not able to get around very well.. Thankfully it went around where I was at and it didn't do too much damage to the places it hit.. They are very scary and I hope never to be in one..

I was young in the Lord at the time, and there were two young ladies, who I'd never suspect that they believed in God were holding hands praying for safety, etc... Thank God for their intercession.

A tornado tore off the corner of our garage when I was a baby. The house next door was under construction and was destroyed. They simply started over. I really don't remember it, of course. But my dad says that when he saw the neighbor's camping trailer tumbling down the road, he knew it was time to hit the basement!!

Sounds like there is a lot of wisdom in your Father. Cherish that relationship you have with him.
