I'm going away soon with my husband & eldest daughter Snowboarding in New Hampshire, USA. My husband & I board whilst our daughter Ski's, However we are all novice and this will be our first time on real snow. We learnt on fake snow at Tamworth Snowdome over 3 years ago and have made regular trips since. I'm confident on my board and feel very at home boarding at the snowdome however the slope there is approx 60 seconds down full pelt providing a new learner hasn't rammed you with their board or ski's. I'm excited and a little apprehensive about boarding on a real slope and have lots of questions to ask but haven't got anyone to ask!! Help & advice welcomed of any description!! Some of my questions are: Do you trust the baggage handlers with your gear?? Eg. Board or Ski bag?? Am I going to need a helmet (Daughter has one) as we'll only be on beginner slopes?? I get the impression I'm going to spend a fortune on lift passes, Are they that expensive?? This might be a really stupid question, but is real snow on the mountains soft to land on?? Fake snow isn't that deep. Am I right in thinking the only footwear I'll need is hiking boots & boarding boots?? I've have got a million & 1 questions to ask!!
