Do you find good bargains at going-out-of-business stores?  

yes i dont see why not as i love a sale and i am willing to take advantage of there misfortune if it saves me a few pounds, i got loads of toys for my daughters for xmas from woolworths as they were closing over the xmas period, they shut oficially the store near us on the 6th january so after the christmas was over i went and got toys for my daughters birthday too even though it isnt untill april as it means she can have more presents as they were less than we would have had to pay elsewhere

sometimes, this last one I went to at a local Kmart going out of business was so horrible, you could tell that everything had been raised about 4-5 dollars!!! coffee had like 15.00 on a small can! they i guess were trying to make as much as they could before they shut the doors. Noone was buying anything.their going out of business sale prices were higher than buying it not on sale at another store.

When I go out to stores I always look for a good bargain and there are times when some places went out of business and I got great deals on them. One Borders store when out of business so I got some books I wanted at 90% off which is amazing. I was so excited when I got ones I couldn't find for a reasonable price.

Sure I did. There are a lot of stores that will be closing very soon and there are a lot of bargains and clearance sales in those stores. Well I usually have the habit of buying sale items tho, so I always watched for them. The cheapest I got from a closing toy store were gun and car toys for a dollar (old price was 10$) and also a set of doll w/ accessories for 1.50$ (old price for 15$). I also got pair of jeans for only 2.50$ (old price 15$). That's one good thing w/ closing stores; having good prices for buyers.

I try to. It's weird because some stores are like part of the family so I get sad but at the same time I get excited about the findings and great deals.

I went to Circuit City today as they went BK and the store here is closing with a huge banner !EVERYTHING MUST GO!" This has been at least the last 2 weeks, maybe longer. I went in looking to find a VHS/DVD player on sale to keep for when the one I have wears out. I couldn't afford their "on sale, everything must go" price! I walked the rest of the store, and the DVD movies were on sale for 25% off - I got a Disney movie for the kids for $8 and that was it. The laptops were still around $800 and from the original price they posted, it wasn't much a discount - about 10%. I hae ato wait till the mark down, their marked down, marked downs

Yes, I do find good bargains at going out of business stores.. But the stores do get really busy and crowded with other bargain hunters..

I haven't found any good deals at the Circut City closing stores around me. I find better items on clearance at stores that are still open. I just got a 47 inch Sharp from Best Buy, on sale for $1200 and it came with a free blue ray player which is going to be sold for about $200 on e-bay. And I got it interest free for 3 years by opening up a Best Buy cc. I won't use that card for anything else and I always take advantage of the interest free special and it helps build good credit. I don't think Circut City has any of those specials but their credit card is through a bank because I did buy a camera from there interest free for one year.

I Love going shopping at out of business stores. Sometime you would find bargins and other times you dont. You have to watch really closely on what you buy this is because sometime they are not a bargain as i already went to a collection company. I have watch a tv program on going-out-of- business shop. They said some time it is cheaper just to go and buy at a regular store.

I am a bargin shopper to start with so I do attempt to hit stores that are going out of business, or just closing... When they annouce it, I will go in and take note of the price of things that I wouldn't mind having, or something I need, but can wait. I will then go back and check weekly or as much as I can to see how much they have slashed the price, and if it's still not down to where i think it's the best deal, i'll leave and go back and check again... Sometimes they still have the things that I want towards the end of the closing sale so i grab it.... if they don't oh well, didn't need it to begin with...

Some of the going out of sales are down right pitiful. They raise prices, and then say it's 20 or 30 % off and people still fall for it and think they are getting a good deal....
