I need some suggestions for my MP3 Player | | Anyone out there an 80's fan? I'm always looking for some good suggestions for my MP3 player to download. I also listen while I MyLot. Thanks for the help! To give you an idea of the type of music I like, you can look at my profile, or I will throw a few out there like The Eurythmics, The Cure, REM, and a whole bunch of one-hit wonders... I'll listen to almost anything!

I think you can Google the top songs in the 80's. You can find good music online.. Try it.. So that you can listen to your fave songs back in the 80's...

| | 2. Mr_Nightfeather (188) | 11 months ago | We have a charity shop across the road which sells second-hand CDs. I noticed the other day that they have quite a lot of 80's music in compilations. Their prices are quite reasonable and, if it were the kind of thing I listened to, I would have bought several, ripped them to MP3 and put them on my player.
If you have trouble ripping CD tracks to MP3, you need Audiograbber, which is Freeware (plus the lame.dll file which you can download from the site). This does a painless job of ripping CDs and it also connects to a database so that the tracks are named automatically.

Mr_Nightfeather (188) | 11 months ago | Windows Media Player can rip CDs, too (actually, 'rip' is not a word I like very much but that's the word used for copying tracks from a CD to a computer!)
In XP, I believe that it will only save in WMA format (which is OK if your player will read that format). I have used Windows Vista and it appeared to be possible to save as MP3 in WMP on that. I still like Audiograbber, though. It has a lot more options on where to save the files, what name to give them and the quality of the copy. Bear in mind that you can usually get 12 music CD's worth of music onto one data CD (of MP3s) or the equivalent 700Mb of MP3 player's RAM and you can see that transferring the tracks you like from CDs is very attractive!

Marcola (1743) | 11 months ago | Thanks for the BR. I thought of some other good ones that you should also download: -Heaven (Bryan Adams) -Don't know what you got till it's gone -She drives me crazy -Sunglasses at Night (Corey Hart) -I want to know what love is -I just died in your arms tonight -(Take these)Broken Wings -Wind of Change (I think it's '80s or possibly '90 or '91. It's a good song, though.) -Every rose has it's thorn. -Nobody's fool

| | | 5. thedailydisco (56) | 11 months ago | Sure there are a lot of goodies from the decade. For the alternative part in rock go to myspace or google & search for: joy division, new order, new model army, echo and the bunnymen, china crisis, omd, depeche mode, fad gadget, erasure, pet shop boys, thomas dolby, prefab sprout, it's immaterial, human league, psychic tv, railway children, the smiths, the waterboys, xtc, siouxie and the banshees, For the electronic part: giorgio moroder, miami sound machine, sandra, ready for the world, pino d'angio, grandmaster flash and the furious five, kraftwerk, baltimora, alphaville,80s Influenced Music Today: MGMT, Arcade Fire, We Are Monsters, Valerie Cherie, kavinsky, daft punk, (http://valeriecherie.blogspot.com), The Daily Disco (http://thedailydisco.blogspot.com) A good way to find music 80s related is to go to google and search "80s electro blogspot" or "80s disco funk blogspot". That will take you to places where the keytar is cooler then sitting in the swimming pool drinking pîna coladâ.

ljbinkop (523) | 11 months ago | These are exactly the type of suggestions that I was looking for, and thank you! I now can go crazy on Frostwire, which is my favorite downloa site. I really like the funky stuff and was having a hard time remembering some of the group names after all these years. Never knew that people blogged about it, too. People will blog about anything, God Bless them! Thanks again! I must go download!

I love the Cars such as Best Friend's Girl. Jessie's Girl and Don't Talk to Strangers-Rick Springfield. Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes from Say Anything-such a romantic song. Always Something There to Remind Me is another great song of the 80's. OH and Toto's Africa and Rosanna. Men Without Hats 'The Safety Dance' is one of my husband's faves. Eyes without a Face, Rebel Yell, White Wedding-all same artist. Firehouse's Love of a Lifetime. Don't know if you like hairbands-I love them. Cinderella has some great songs as well. Def Leppard's Hysteria is one of my favorite songs of all time. Pat Benetar's Love is a Battlefield is another awesome 80's song. Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is an uplifting song. Little Red Corvette and When Doves Cry by Prince. Blondie "Rapture" or "Call Me". Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime" "Burning Down the House" "And She Was" And more...
