Oh, this is a great question!
I have never thought of myself as a risk taker. I was quiet and shy as a kid, always playing it safe. But recently, a friend I've known for 18 years said that I am a risk taker. We were discussing an important decision coming up and he told me that probably I wouldn't be happy unless I took some sort of calculated risk. That was interesting to hear about myself.
Some people would consider me to act in a risky manner. I've moved my family across the globe twice, once to a Gypsy village in the Balkans and another time to the Middle East. I guess those were risky moves, but I didn't feel like I was endangering my family. And when we did encounter danger, we left.
So I'd say I'm a casual risk taker :-)

..I think I'm in the middle.. Sometimes, i am afraid to take risks.. there are also times when I take risks.. I believe that nothing will happen in my life if I am going to let opportunities get away.. When opportunities come, this is the time when I really let myself stand and take the risks.. after all, risks are part of our lives..

Yes, and in that sense, unavoidable. So when we take risks, they need to be calculated as well as possible beforehand. Not taking any risk at all is not realistic, and besides, it would be like a turtle who never came out of the shell.

Sometimes I wish that I would take more risks in my life, it would be cool to just not go to college and travel the world instead with my cameras, meeting so many different sorts of people, that would be such an awesome life. Though I am playing it safe by going to college and getting an education (that I have no idea what I will do with), sometimes it feels like I am taking more of the risk going to college and putting myself in debt, waiting for a job that does not exist for me yet, I have no idea what I will do with the education I will get, it seems pointless. I would probably be happier to follow my heart and travel the world with all the money I get. That would be the life. I wish I could live in this body twice and live both ways to the extreme, I hate fork in the road situations where I cannot turn around.

That is an excellent comment. I have often wished that I could live two lives simultaneously. How I would integrate them I have no clue though!

yes,i could say that i am like that,i will get all the opportunity that come to me,because i always think of it when you will never meet the sunshine tomorrow, and aside from that i am the type of person who get easily bored for waiting something in my life.

Hi friend, i am not interested in taking unwanted risks, but if it is necessary, i will take risk. I don't want to do adventures and get my name in the records, but i never refuse to take risks for my needs

About 10 years ago I decided that I would like to spend some time in Estonia, and on the internet I found the address of a home for mentally disabled people. I wrote them and asked them if I could get a job in that home and the answer was: "Yes, when do you want to come?" I decided to go there, bought my ticket and left my own country. My stay there was a great experience and I definately don't regret it, but it was a pretty risky thing to do. I didn't speak the language, I didn't know anyone in Estonia and I had never worked with mentally disabled people before so it was a big "jump" into the unknown, but it went really well.
I don't know if I would have done the same thing today, I would probably have thought a lot more about it, instead of just doing it. Today I would have been more nervous aboout finding a job through the internet, thinking that it might be a scam or something, but I didn't have those kinds of thoughts when I was younger.
