The launch of the new Google latitude, though welcome by some also is looked at a privacy threat by others. This feature when enabled allows people to track the location of your mobile therby knowing where you are.

While it's great for bosses who want to know where the employees are, for friends to check out where the wherabouts of other friends and when you misplace your mobile.

But it's not so great when you are made to have this feature o always as an employee, or a young person by your parents or soemone who wants to stalk you.

As this technology keeps keeps developing, the misuse and fears too will kepp increasing.

I value my privacy and I hate someone putting a tail on me as I am a person who always like the head on collisions and direct confrontations.Bur as the things go by no one is secure and everyone is put a tab on them with these modern technology.In that case I think that there is no use in loosing my sleep over it unless I plan to have a great hold up in the near future. lol

Google Latitude is certainly a great technological revolution. It could help in lot unthinkable of ways and could prove to be a boon for the judiciary system. Having said this, the hind side of it: if used by the wrong kind of people, it could allow terrorist groups to co-ordinate their actions more effectively. And also not to forget those 'adulterous partners' keen to lie about there whereabouts will be the happiest!

Whatever it may be, most, like me would not want them to be monitored or tracked. I personally, am not sneaky about my whereabouts from my family but why on earth anyone should intrude into my privacy and get me pinpointed. Obviously I see little good intention in this.

I agree that this is a great technological tool which has its benefits. But unfortunatley gets used for the wrong reasons. You are right in saying that most would not to conciously allow anyone to track them, so as such would not prefer to have this feature enabled if available to them. And it's not so much about being sneaky or not, as much as it is about one's own privacy and the possibility that this could fall into the wrong hands.

Yes, the same reason I would not want myself to be photographed by unknown person in a bus. Its certainly intrusion into privacy and taken present scenario its all the more scary. You have a nice day.

I remember this discussion you started on the privacy intrusion after the incident on the bus. Incidents like those remind us how our privacy can be intruded into. We need to be on our guard more these days. You have a nice day too.
