Annoying telemarketers trying to sell magazines

Hello I got this just the other day a telemarketer said that I had won a fairly great amount of money but in reality they were trying to sell magazines. That just isn't right. They shouldn't be allowed to do that and I have no idea how they got my number it is unlisted. I just say I am not interrested. I try to be nice but sometimes they do insist on selling and I just have to hang up the phone.

If they are particularly rude and annoying I will play games with them. I will make them go through their spiel two - three times and deliberatley ask stupid questions then at the end tell them I am not interested it and request to be removed from their list. I did this one time to the same telemarket so happened to kept getting me....

I was at my parents house answered for her..
At my sisters house at my other sisters house grandpas old house before he died other sisters house then when I moved into grandpas old house got her again. Each time selling different products...

But this time she was like oh no no no I remember you.. Dang how many places do you live at? .. She said.. She said okay.. I am gonna lose my job for this.. But.. Give me all the phone numbers and I will write them down, so when I go to the next telemarketing job I can remove all these numbers from the lists:) ... She said then said I am really trying to get out of telemarketing, it stinks...

By then I had purely caught the womans curiosity...and we talked about what other jobs were out there and she was like ya know I think I will try that one.. She thanked me and hung up.

So in the end I giggled thinking I just sold a telemarketer a new job, I win! lol.....I encouraged her to look into dispatching on buses:) ... She liked that idea.

i have caller i.d. on my home telephones and if i do not know a number that is calling me, then i will not answer the phone. usually the person's name and their telephone number comes up on the caller i.d., when when that doesn't happen is when that i will not answer the phone. lol whoever that is calling that i do not know like that, can leave a message or hang up, which ever that they decide to do. and i like the way you put it, just say no thank ya, and hang up on them quickly. lol you go girl!

Well, I'm on a do-not call list, so I'm safe....for the most part. I remember my dad would just come out and ask them if said person was a telemarketer. (Usually, they couldn't pronounce our last name.) The telemarketer would say yes and my dad would basically tell them not to call anymore. So, if I hear an unfamiliar voice on the other end of the phone, I pretty much do the same or if I'm just plain not interested, I hang up and go back to what I was doing.

they are the most aggravating people. i am on the do not call list but every once in awhile one will slip through. i'm like you i just say i'm not interested & hang up. i know they are trying to make a living but i wish they wouldn't call me. lol

yes i have the same problem but i did buy the magazines after i cancel the magazines and i have not got a bill and i better not becuaes i told them to stop so i just dont answer my phone at all i leave it to the answer machine to do the taking i hate telling people no but i will if i have to just dont answer the 1800 numbers ok

I only have a cellphone and it has caller ID. I only answer the phone if I know the number.

Well my husband and I have been having trouble with telemarketers lately. I have one particular company that keeps trying to sell me long distance. Now I am very happy with my long distance provider and I have told them this numerous times, I have also asked to be taken off of their call list. Now I thought I had heard the last from them but I was wrong. They called me about three days later again trying to sell me the long distance plan. Now I lost my patience and told them that I had already spoken to someone and told them to tkae me off the call list. They guy on the phone then told me that there were no notes made to that effect. My reponse was to tell him to make certain that he made the notes himself because the next call I recieved from either him or his company, would result in legal action. I have actually talked to my lawyer about this and he has told me that once you ask to be removed from the call list, any further calls you recieve are harassment. I told this to the guy and thankfully it has been about two months since I have recieved a call from them. Maybe next time I should just ask them for their home number so that I can call them back at my next available chance,LOL.
