It is natural for a single parents to be especially close to their children, yet care must be taken that the bond between parents and children do not break down. Serious difficulties can arise if a single mother expects her son to take on the responsibilities of the man of the house or treats her daughter as a confidant. Doing so is stressful, and perhaps confusing to a child. Nothing is wrong for a mother to build that kind of relationship, but one must consider the child and know that her or she needed space and independent. a parent must assure their children that you as the parent will care for them not vice versa. And I believe if there is understanding and good communication, then each party will understand.

hi willy..well i guess if the child needs to be taken care of ..what i mean is minor and not independent..then single parents or couple(parent).. its our inherent nature to watch over our children/taking care and the like...but if in the process its our children who dont want to be taken care of then we cant force ourselves on them...we are here to guide them always as parents ...a good communication is a must on every kind of relationship i guess
