To Ski or Not To Ski |
|
I have been skiing for a while now and I am beginning to get bored of it. My friends are snowboarders and they are trying to convince me to start snowboarding with them. However, I have been skiing for so long, I don't think I will be able to get the hang of snowboarding. Plus I hate snowboarders because they are always in the way whenever you are coming down the hill, they think the middle of the hill is the best place to take a break. So my first question is how hard is it to make the switch from skier to snowboarder and my second question is what kind of experiences have you had as a snowboarder or skier.
Thanks:)

I am better at skiing but two years ago I tried snowboarding and it was fun. Didn't go so great at the start, I had pretty sure bottom after first tries but later on I achieved the first goal - to snow down the hill staying on my feet. I suggest to try snowboarding and if you won't like it you always can return to the skiing!

I knew how to ski quite well before I ever learned to snowboard... in fact, skiing helped me learn to snowboard a lot. I found it a lot easier to turn and not ride the edge of the board after skiing. Maybe I just got over the fear of going fast. So it might be easier for you to learn to board! Not all snowboarders sit in the middle of the hill (okay, so most do...)! I try to stop on the side of trails. I definitely understand why they all sit down though; I find snowboarding to be a lot more tiring than skiing. You'll have a blast learning to snowboard, give it a try!
