The Galaxy

There are so many people that love anything to do with astronomy, the heavens, stars, sci-fi, the Universe, the galaxy etc., but they think that they do not have the education that it takes to be an astronomer and are not willing to go back to school for the time that it would take to become one.
Are you one of those people? Would you love to gaze at the stars as your profession and help mankind to learn what it out there in that big beyond? Or do you think you are too old to do anything about it now and time has passed you by?
What would you do if you found out that time had not passed you by and that you Can help astronomers explore the Universe right now? Would you do it? Would you jump at the chance?
Or are you not at all interested in space and the vast beyond? If not, then what are you interested in?
And for those of you that are interested in helping the astronomers explore the Universe, I think you would be very interested in this site:
