How to remove fleas, ticks and lice from puppy? Please help. |
| |
| We bought a 1-month-old puppy just last week. It was so cute and lovely. The puppy really brings joy to us. The problem is I discovered that there are fleas on it. I really want to get all the fleas but it's just so hard to do it. Actually, the fleas are very fast that we can;'t catch them at all. What should we do? Fleas and lice are very harmful to our puppy. Please help. | | | | | |

| | He has lice? That is weird I have never heard of a dog getting lice. I mean I guess that they can I have just never heard of it. Well give him a bath with Dawn dishwashing soap. The soap will stun the fleas and then you can pick them off. The only way to kill them though is to smash them between two of your fingernails and you hear them pop then I just keep an alcohol napkin next to me and rub my finger on it. It is very time consuming but should be easy enough. | | | | | | |

| | Lucky for you he will let you bathe him. get some flea shampoo or dawn dish soap. They both work great. Bathe your dog with it and dry him off. Look in the towel to see if you see live ones crawling around. Get some borax laundry booster. Place this in the carpets of your home. They will die and sooner than later your fleas will be gone. | | | | | | |

| | There are powders for dog flies available in the market. I can't recommend any particular brand coz I've already forgotten the one we used some years ago with our puppy. But you can buy any brand from the supermarkets to help you with this problem. I think there is also a shampoo for that problem. | | | | | | |

| | You should go to any pet shop and ask for special shampoo against fleas. The shopkeeper will explain how to use the shampoo to get the best result. To avoid ticks most likely your puppy should wear a special dog-collar which is soaked with leak which avoids ticks. Good luck! | | | | | | |

| | My husband just said to add brewer's yeast to the food they eat. It changes the blood and body chemestry enough that fleas and ticks don't like it. Doesn't work on lice. the least expensive way to get rid of lice is something called "sheep dip." Don't know what the heck it is, but my husband who worked on a farm says it's been around for 100 years, and is sold over the counter in a FARM or FEED store. Smells like crap, but works! also works on human headlice (his kids are still pee'd off for the way it smelled, but it worked!!). Prescription equivilent that doens't smell is EXPENSIVE. Get the cheap stinky stuff from the farm store, and it'll do the trick. | | | | | | |
