just tried a new hobby, planting Orchid  | |  dear all,
i and my wife just bought some orchids plant.
we are new in this hobby.
please advise us how to treat those orchids.
i have purple orchid, white, and others.
i don't even know their name.
what i know is anggrek bulan, catelia, debendrum etc.
i will submit some photo of them in the next photo

When I lived in Delaware I tried but didn't have any success because the only time that it was very humid was in the summer. I tried spraying them the rest of the year but they always died. When I lived in Belize I had 2 huge plants growing off of my balcony and did absolutely nothing to them and they flourished, but it was always warm and humid. They had huge sprays of tiny white flowers that bloomed in March. I was sooooo proud of them! I even had a black orchid the national flower of Belize. Good Luck with your orchids I hope they bloom for you.

| playapal (804) | 11 months ago | I wish I could help you, where do you live? When I got my black orchid, it was sort of a bootleg thing. They were illegal, but a local got one for me. I paid someone to bring it across the border to Mexico, but it didn't survive the trip. I have 2 baby local orchids growing here, I have then growing in very rich soil with a lot of coconut husks and dead tree debris. One of them is sending up a long sprout now and I think it may bloom soon. | |
