I would say that award goes to Elvis Presley. It seems he has been more powerful than The Beatles.

| |  I'd say The Beatles because they still help shape the music industry today.
When new bands are formed, many of them list that they are influenced by The Beatles, it's a huge rarity for any new musical artist to classify themselves with Elvis Presley.
The older crowd goes for Presley, but The Beatles live on through all generations.
Therefore, it is to my belief that in a few decades or so, the name Elvis Presley won't be as well-known, and The Beatles will still continue to be revolutionary.
Not only with popularity, but The Beatles had music that shaped political views at the time as well.
