The book entitled "Cross Country" has got me to thinking about names that killer's give themselves or go by. I guess what's really made me think is killer's who have a profile name of an animal? Now I can't think of any real life killer that comes to mind, and neither can I think of a killer in a book (other then the one we're reading) with an animal like name. Why do you think that author's give killer's animal like names? What do you think would make a killer want a name, an alias, like that of an animal? What animal do you think is known to be vicious enough that a person with that same name, would be instantly feared? What other books can you think of with killer's that have animal like names?

I know we are in the middle of reading the James Patterson novel Cross Country which so far is looking like it will be a interesting book with a lot of plot twists and action, and I know what you mean about wondering about the names that killers give themselves or go by,and I also wonder about killers who go by animal names, and I am not sure about other novels which have killers that go by animal names, and I am not sure if he was a killer or not,but I remember there was a crook called the Bird Man of Alcatraz, and I think that the author gives the killer an animal name to show how ruthless and aggressive they are and how they have the instincts to kill without every giving it a second thought,or without feeling any guilt or remorse for the victims or the families of the victims, and I am not sure which animal would prove to be the most vicious and to make a person with the name instantly feared, but a few animals that come to mind are tigers, lions, wolfs, bears, sharks, and maybe even the snake,or other animals, that are known to kill a lot of people.

I know that I am eager to see what happens in the book, as it is very interesting, and probably better then the book we did start to read before by James Patterson entitled "Beach Road", that book was hard to follow. I have heard of the Birdman of Alcatraz but don't think that we have talked about him lately. I would have to agree with you on why the author gives an animal name to the killer in his books, or if it's a show, their show. Although I suppose if it is a show they would be a writer instead of an author, which is the title used mostly to mean a writer of books. I think that those animals you've listed are all very vicious indeed and would be good names for people who are to be feared in books, and in shows... and hopefully not, but even in real life!
