I have started a new group for feral cat caretakers in Yahoo Groups called Costco Feral Cat Caretakers. I originally thought of getting together as many caretakers as possible who care for colonies at Costco but my idea has expanded to all big box stores and large pet stores such as Petco, Petsmart, etc. The purpose of this group is to get together people who may be facing similar issues with regards to their colonies and help form a strong coalition with which to advocate for the safety, health and wellbeing of these precious creatures. We are their voice! Please go to Yahoo Groups to join. Please provide a valid email address. We hope to make it an interesting and informative site. Thank you.

Yahoo already has a group call street cats or something like that. It's not very active. I hope yours will be a huge success. We are trying to TNR as many cats as possible in my city. I ran into the trapper on one of my dog walks this evening. Since I was on my way to a friends house a few doors down, I popped in and told my friend to grab any of his cats that still aren't done and just hand them to the trapper. My friend has 2 that need altering, but only one that's tame enough to catch. So he did. Tomorrow morning the cat will get altered and will be returned 24 or so hours later. The trapper will be on my street in a few days. I hope all the ferals near me get fixed.

Hi CatLady. I belong to a couple of cat groups on Yahoo. They are general groups related to feral cats. My group is specific to feral cats who live at big box stores or any large warehouse-type store. The purpose of the group is mainly to network and share problems and solutions related to the stores (management) and cats, to hopefully allow them to live in harmony together. I am glad your friend's cat is getting altered/fixed. It is the best thing to do for the cat overpopulation. So many cats meet up with very sad endings and hopefully spaying and neutering can help this problem.
