Walked in on my husband watching The Bachelor, the episode where the girls get to dish. And I started thinking of all the stupid cliche's they use on that show. So I Googled "The Bachelor cliches" and found this blog (not a ref link):

C'mon, do people ever really talk like this on dates or about people they are dating? "She hasn't opened up to me." Surely the show feeds them this stuff? What do you think?

There'd be scripted moments for sure! lol. 90% of what has been filmed would end up on the editing room floor and you only have to see the statement at the end of "reality" shows to realize this. It generally states - "Portions of this program not affecting the outcome may have been edited out of episodes seen" or something like that. Even as a so called reality show, the footage is very heavily manipulated!
And cliches? Oh man.... Many of us seem to borderline despise them at times, but we're all guilty of using them! One of the more common ones I've heard on TV for example and in a number of different sitcoms is - "It's not you, it's me!" when people break-up! And of course the follow on cliche once someone is single - "There's plenty more fish in the ocean!"
