Have you heard of this kind of crab or seen one?

Hi folks...A friend of mine sent me an email with pictures of a coconut crab. Have you ever heard of this type? Apparently they can grow over 3ft long and weigh up to 40 pounds. They are a land type crab related to the hermit crab. Their claws are so strong they actually break coconuts and eat the meat. They can climb trees too but eat coconuts only off the ground.
If I ever had crabs, I definately would not want this type!

I wouldn't want to get caught in those claws, im sure they could crush bones.

Yes they are and extremely ugly..I couldnt figure out how to post the picture but will try again..I am fairly new to mylot and havent figured out how to do everything yet because Im too busy chatting!
