What are some things that you use to keep the birds and pests out of your garden? I am starting my garden and I dont want the animals and pests distroying it. What do you use to scare them away?

Meaning that you want an ecological method for your garden to stay away from birds and pests. There is a simple instruction in this article which includes 9 steps of it and I think relevant to your request; http://www.ehow.com/how_2182541_keep-pests-out-garden.html

It would be great to have the Scarecrow from the Wizard of OZ. Fencing for certain animals works. You could mix dish soap and water to spray to keep aphids away. Don't forget, some insects are actually good for the garden like wasps and lady bugs. They usually eat the inscts to be considered pests.

Scarecrows are always good. Never tried the dish soap yet.

I don't do anything! Both insects and birds does a lot of good things in the garden so I think it's manly good to have them there. Birds take small insects, but insects are also the ones that pollinates the flowers and makes the trees get fruit and so on. We don't have much snails or things like that. When it comes to small insects that kills plants there is things you can do to prevent them - like growing different vegetables in one place next year and so on.
