This is a ridiculously underappreciated artist. He is Filipino.
Then there are others I like, like "Cherish," from the Association, Shelley Fabares's "Johnny Angel," from 1962, and one of the real humdingers, "You're in Love," by Wilson Phillips, from 1991, a real tear jerker.
