I just painted my old shoes and now, it looks brand new!

It is undeniable that times are hard now. That is why a lot of us are finding ways to save money. And here is what I did. I have these cute red shoes that is slowly starting to peel because of constant usage. I didn't want to buy new shoes so what I did was I got my old watercolor paint, got the red color out and painted the peeled peeled area of the shoes and voila! GOOD AS NEW. You should do the same as well if you have shoes that can still be saved.
Do you think this is a useful tip? Can you share other tips?

It is said that at this difficult time, all over the world, people are beginning to think about ways to save money. Making best of the things available is an easy way to start with. Clothing, shoes, tires, whatever are more than ever utilized to their maximal value. It is frugal way of life for us. Other tips are
- Prepare meals at home, less eat out, or order reasonably
- Less shopping, not going to sales activities,
- Go to library, not buying books,
- Looking for free exercises, not going to expensive gyms,
- Going to work by foot, by byke, by bus or co-riding
- Drink more water,
- DIY and save energy, say use sun, no drier,
- Keep fit, no disease, etc.

Thank you for the very useful tips. I actually quit the gym a few months ago and just started working out at home. I really saved a lot because of that. And I use the public transportation to go to places.

Thanks for this tip! I have never thought of painting old shoes, but it really is a good idea. I am sure that I will be able to use it in the future. I will have to start going through my old shoes and see which ones I can save this way! It is definitely worth giving a shot. Thanks for your suggestion. I agree that we are living in tough times. Yes, this is a great idea... as long as we can save money in a decent and just way, it is a great idea. 
I will surely share this and use this once I have the chance.
I have one black shoes that I have been using for 3 years now. I know it is taking me a long time to buy new pair because I want to save money. I make sure I use my black shoes only at work - the rest of the days, i wear sandals. this avoid tearing and usage. and i do polish it regularly.
Also, if it is raining, I bring it to work and wear slip ons to work and just put it on when I arrive the office. This way, I avoid damage.
