After watching today's match between Australia and South Africa one thing is very clear that these matches going to enter with a lot of tension in the last day. Matches swinging from Australian side to the South African side every now and then and there is creating so much interest in the whole match. In I personally think that if a the cricket council wants to improve the status of test cricket than this is the kind of cricket matches which should be played in the test format of the game so that the visitors to the field and even the people watching at home on television argued in front of the match. If this kind of quality is being delivered then there is some meaning in watching these matches otherwise there is no point in watching test matches being drawn.

Almost all the matches between these 2 sides have been closely fought.Be it the semifinals at the 1992 world cup or the semifinals at the 1999 world cup or the highest run chase by SA in the ODI.
The main thing for the increse in attendance of the spectators should be to play matches on lively pitches which help both the seamers as well as the spinners. Now a days cricket has become a batsman friendly game where in he scores heavily.
The pitch should be created so that the batsmen as well as the bowlers should have equal chance in making a name for themselves.then only Test matches are going to be alive. Now with the advent of T20 matches , Test cricket may take a back seat.
