How do I get my HTML sortie to "stick"

MyLot does not allow html code in the body of the posts so I have changed the brackets from pointed to square

Thanks SB but that does not seem to help. It does the same thing whether or not I do what you say. I have tried the link (see above) and tried adding a picture from my ImageShack album.

I have been playing around with it some more and find that if I paste in my html code, then add a couple of spaces, and click on reset to default it instantly works. Then I have to go back and edit the background and border colors.

If I at any time click on save changes THAT is when it does the flashing and goes back to a blank field. As long as I do not click on the save changes I can get it to work. This is in Firefox so I will try it in Internet Explorer next.

That's why I didn't say "save" it. Just click on "view profile" once you're done.

Yes, the save acts like a reset button for the field.

The reset theme acts like a reset theme and save at the same time, but you have to edit to redo the theme.

This is all screwed up, I do not know how everyone else figured this out, it certainly not in any instructions. I think they should fix it.

They seem to have deleted a couple of my tests in my profile, I guess I should not have used adult language.

It's been that screwed-up since I can remember (and I've been here a year). Longtime members were the ones who told me how to do it. I guess everyone just got used to it that nobody complained anymore.

Thanks for the help. I never would have figured that out for myself. I tried to add stuff when I first joined a few months ago and did not have the patience to keep going through it I figured I was doing something wrong. I saw others with stuff on their profiles so I knew it was possible.

I have a couple of links on my profile now and will add to it in the coming days now I know the magic.

I have not got that far yet. I am still working on just a referral link. I got a couple of referral links on their now so my next challenge will be getting some banners to stick. The whole thing is really broken and should be fixed. It is not like they just started this site a few weeks ago and are shaking out the start up bugs.

Read through the previous threads. Once you get something on your profile you have to click the edit, do your changes, add a couple of spaces, then click edit again before it sticks.

That is html for centering your pictures or text. I am familiar with that but it is not a solution to a broken application. Somehow this part of the site has never had the bugs taken out of it. I wonder why more people have not complained about it and if they have why it is not fixed.

Thanks. If you see my profile you will see I now have the magic steps to add HTML to my profile. I see some other people with background images and music there but I will leave that question until later. I am adding a new item or two every once in a while. I wanted to add my paid banners and have wanted to do so for weeks/months.

I am familiar enough with HTML that I can hand code a page. I have not quite got the hang of style sheets. I would like to change some of the fonts on my home page, but like I say, I will do that much later. I see you have customized your profile.

Yep, I took the time to customize it. It was a bit of a pain when certain things wouldn't "stick" when I'd copy and paste them in, but once I tried hand typing in things instead it resolved that problem.

I have enough information now to add banners to my profile. The problem is in the myLot site, they should fix it, but my emails have not been replied to. Apparently this is an old problem that they have ignored.

Yes, I have enough information now to put banners on my profile. I know enough HTML to hand code a page if I have to. When I was putting the HTML in the box it would just disappear when I tried to add it. All is sorted out for now.
