To Save You Own Life how far would you Go? Kill someone? |
| |
| I was watching a movie the other night and this guy in order to save his own life he had to kick another guy off of his leg. The reason why he had to do this was in order to save his own life. And that got me thinking how far would an individual go in saving themselves? I mean technically if you kicked this person off your leg it's murder. But technically if you don't do it you die as well. So how can this stay morally? And in God's eyes would this be murder or should you just let go and kill both you and him? And would it be ok to kick him off because it would save yourself? I was wondering what's everybodies views on this topic are. Would it be ok to kill someone in order to save your own life or would it be more important not to save you either and hwo do you make a decision like that? Is there a right or a wrong? | | | | | |

| | The answer is quite simply for me since I am not selfish person I would rather die then to kill someone just to survive. Whats the purpose of leaving if you do immoral things such as this. Taking ones life is a sin but its never a sin to die a natural death or a death in which is you dont have a control off. | | | | | | |

| | So does that mean if you are hanging and someone else is holding you up. And telling you to kick that person off of you. Would that still be immorally wrong? I mean it's not like you want to kill that person but you don't want to die either. | | | |

| | I think that if he hadn't kicked the other guy off his leg, both of them would have died so logically its a right decision. And I don't think its murderous as you had no intent of killing out of malice and that he would have died either ways. If the person who was grabbing my leg was someone whom I loved, I couldn't do it. If it was someone else, I honestly don't know what I would do. I should be thinking either emotionally or logically depending on that situation and the state of mind that I am in and if I will have enough time to think or my instincts for survival will take over. I don't think there is anything morally wrong as the person would have died anyway. Nice question. | | | | | | |

| | I wonder myself about that. If it's morally wrong. Because we don't have any intent to kill that person but what should we do if something like that does come up. For both of us to die or one to die and the other to live and wonder why they should have done... Thanks it is an interesting topic and question. | | | |

| | Yes, If someone was murdering me I would have no problem defending myself. Would you really allow some one to kill you if there was a way to defend yourself? | | | | | | |

| | Well I'm not saying they would have killed you.. It's just saying that if you didn't have any choice to kill that person off of you.. If you would be able to do it or what you personally would do. I mean do you think logically or morally? | | | |

| | Religiously, I can't answer. I'm not a religious person. I can only answer for my own opinions. If the person had attacked me, I believe I could kill without feeling any remorse. I might be very sick afterwards, because it would be messy. But not any kind of "Oh, I shouldn't have done that." He attacked me, I'm just defending myself. As far as hanging off the bridge part. It would depend on the person hanging below me. Is he a crook? Not a problem. Is it a mother? Problem. My daughter? Huge problem. The crook I could kick off. The mother or my daughter, I would try to hang on and yell at them to start climbing, and to move it!! I'd rather fall off with them than survive. I couldn't live with that. There's a point where it's not worth surviving, if the cost is that high. | | | | | | |

| | I could honestly see the problem with that. A total stranger? you may kick off as well. But if my mom was holding on to me I know what she would do. Because she wouldn't want me to die she would let go. I think it would be hard to live after that but I would because of the sacrifice that she would do for me. | | | |
