Hillary Clinton is in the middle east right now, the usa is pledging $900 million dollars for Palestinian aid, three million is to be allocated to rebuilt the gaza strip, after the bombings by Israel.
Do you think the USA should help out for this reason?
Are they going against Israel if they do?
Or do you think it is Israel's responsibility to do it?
Or do you think all countries should help out?

I think it would be nice if all countries would help out. However, it has been the US's take on things to always help out and do the right thing usually. We have been doing it for hundreds of years now and why would we stop not. I don't think that Israel would help. I think that we just as humans should help. Haven't they been through enough?!!

Good to hear that more than just the US is involved. It is easier for all that way.

Rose,
I know, I also know we have unlimited funds for wars when used by the right House and Senate people. That does not make it right. We will be the ones to suffer here in America because people like lil miss clinton does this crap.
Same day, different house, and people are still starving and living on the streets on Madison Ave and in Central Park.

Why is it that 2 people decide to go to war againt each other blow the place to pieces and then we have to put out the money to fix it. I thought it was our place to help rebuild Iraq, I mean we went in and destroyed it. But what have we done to cause this destruction? We are the only ones that is going to put out money to repair the gaza strip. We have families here losing their jobs day after day, kids with not enough to eat, poor education, businesses closing every day; don' you think it our place to take care of us for a change. I think that Israel should be held accountable for the repairs that needs to be done there, when we pick a side to help, I would think that that would make the other side feel like we was going against us. I thought our ties was with Israel. Why can't we just stay out of it, I will wait to see other countries come in to help out but why should they when they can leave the burden to us we always there to help, and that is not fair, if we are going to do it then the rest of the nations should have to kick in their fair share too. But we better start learning to take care of us first.

the usa is not the only ones sending money, they are the ones this discussion is about. The saudi arabians are also sending money and probably many more countries will follow as humanitarian relief.

I cant understand all this US system first they kill innocent pplz they destroy countries and support others to do so and then giving money to build same places again what is this madness. When Israelis was destroying Gaza and killing all innocent ppllz young children and women this US was supporting them and they said they have right to destroy them to kill them and now they are offering money to build it again.
How can they justify this?

Israel was after the terrorists that were sending rockets over to them, the rebuilding is for the innocent people that got caught in the middle of it.

It doesn't surprise me. This whole white house cabnet has just opened the check book and loves to spend. Even though there is nothing there to spend. Can you say OVERDRAFT....
NO, I think the USA needs to stay out of it and worry about our own country right now. But this white house is not going to do that. They need to see how deep in the hole they can put us..
And does that not prove that she is letting the contrubtions to her husband libray conflect with dessions....The extact reason she should NOT have been put in this postion

The policies of USA is very hard to understand and it usually look very bad to outside world..one side they spend billions to track down Osama, the same man who they built with billions of $. one side they say Pakistan is epicenter of terrorism and other hand they increase aid to that country 3 times knowing fully well it would be used to fund more terror.. i can never understand the policies
In case ur wondering how Osama Bin laden was helped by USA then go back in late 70s and early 80 when Russians controlled Afganistan and Usa to throw Russians from there gave billions and billions of $, arms and training to Osama and when he turned that money and arms on USA ..u know what happened.

Did you see the pictures of all the preseved rockets that the Palestinians shot into Israel? No one talks about that. Why is it o.k. for the Palestinians to send rockets to Israel but when Israel retaliates it is a war crime ? Why? none of the Palestinians ever admit that they play with rockets like immature boys only it causes havock and devastation. Now the USA is giving them 900 Million Dollars. Do you really think it will benefit the poor victimized civilians on the Gaza strip? I bet you it will be used to build better tunnels to Egyppt to carry in more weapons and to buy better rockets. I really feel sorry for the poor Palestinian civilians who are brainwashed, misinformed, kept in the dark as to what is really happening, deprived of decent living conditions and health benefits all by their own leadership. Hamas is a wicked organisation bent on warfare. They cannot even get along with their Fatah brothers in the westbank. This whole idea by the USA is totally insane.

the usa is asking for proof that the money will go where it was intended to go and not get into the wrong hands.

In my opinion, it is not the job of the US, not alone, to rebuild anything, unless WE broke it. I am not opposed to us being PART of a rebuilding effort. I do wonder where all of this money that Hillary is promising is going to come from?

Really, I think it's Israel's responsibility to aid the Palestinians, but I fear this will never happen, my friend. The two countries have been at war for so many years, that I really can't see an end to it, although it's been at its worst of late.
I think that the richer countries should perhaps help out, and they do, but on the other hand, I don't really think this is always appreciated by the receiving countries, and let's face it, in this time of economic crisis, the leaders would do better to share their funds closer to home, amongst those who originally paid the funds in, in taxes.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Morning, winterose...I don't think that you are going to like my response to this question....BUT, I am getting truly tired of all the "foreign aid" leaving our homeland, (et al) and our own backyards are in such a mess! We have, sick & homeless, too! We have, statistically, far tooooooo many children living UNDER the poverty level, too many illiterates! I am beginning to think that it is a competition between the countries to see "who will contribute the most foreign aid" and then have bragging rights! I would really like to see our own problems fixed, first! Cheers!

hmmm. isn't gaza strip a part of palestine country which is the enemy of israel. i just hope that it will not severe the good relationship between israel and USA. but i admit i admire the US government in helping out other countries in developing their nation, but with the current situation of USA i just doubt if they should really try to help out other countries where their country is in still dire need of money itself. and though USA is USA, i think they need to focus more to build their economy strong again so that in the future they could help more countries after they have recovered from financial crisis they are doing now. but still if the USA really still want to help more countries i still don't see any wrong with it. actually it is commendable.

It's hard to say "no" to helping out another country but with the current economic crisis I think 900 million is a bit too much. I don't think this is going against Israel though, unless the money is being channeled into the Palestinian military it's alright to give out relief goods to the victims.

good points, hilary made the statement that the usa expects to see proof that the money is used for what it is intended for and does not fall into the wrong hands.

Wow, that is a pretty penny to be shoveling around when the economy is so bad now. But I feel that maybe all should pitch in so it doesn't just come from one place so it will make it easier on everyone.
