How do you put smileys and put the next word to another line?

Why does ':)' not change to a smiley? And when I hit the 'Enter' It skips to the next line in the text box but remains in one line when submitted. How do you people do that? help please

Hey Yaks welcome to Mylot. You can't use smileys now since you are on 10 posts only. You get that power when you reach 200 posts hehe. When you reach 100, you will get a star next to your name and a number in it which is the mylot reputation I think. So no smileys for you till you reach 200 I was so happy when I reached a 200 and I was able to use the mylot code. And I am waiting to reach the 500 mark and I would be able to copy and paste

Aw, that's sad to hear. Anyway, thank you for clarifying. I will just have to work harder to reach the 200 mark, hehe. And ow, what determines the reputation? I always see a 98/100, 96/100, etc. What factors affects this?

Hello yAks89! I am sorry to say but you can't still use the smileys here. You have to reach 200 posts before using it. Right now, you only have 49 posts (it's the number beside your username) and you still have to take 151 posts to be able to use it.
