My fiance and I just got done talking to the preacher that is to marry us, and have decided on a plan for marriage counseling. At first it was going to be done by two members of the church my fiance and his mom are familiar with, but are now going to be doing it with the preacher himself. We are to go once a month and also we're going to be reading a book and talking about it.
So did you have marriage counseling? Did you go periodically or all in one day?

Before my ex and I got married we were supposed to do classes with the minister. The minister kept forgetting when he was supposed to have appointments to do the classes with us so we wound up never having any before we got married. When my ex and I were going to split up the first time we went to a marriage counselor but we didnt like it so we didnt go again. Now that we split up I knew it was over I didnt need a counselor to give me advice. I was miserable with my ex for the 6 years that I was married. My mother still keeps trying to get me to go to marital counseling with my ex and she just needs to but out and leave us alone.

I suppose marraige counseling helps for some and others it doesn't. I can understand people butting in when you want them to just butt out...

This is a really good discussion baby and I am sure there are a lot of people who have different opinions when it comes to marriage counseling, and then I am sure there are a lot of people who had marriage counseling before they got married, and then I am sure there are either people who either did not have a chance to do marriage counseling or chose not to simply because they did not want to do it and I can understand the opinions of both sides, and I know we talked to the preacher and he agreed to marry us,and we decided to do marriage counseling, and I remember how at first it was going to be two members of the church me and my mom are familiar with and instead it is going to be done by the preacher himself,we go see him once a month and we have already met with him a couple of times, and we got our marriage counseling work books, and we have already done part one which was our assignment before we go see the preacher in May and then I am sure he will assign us part two to read and answer the questions,I think marriage counseling is a good idea and every couple should do it because it helps with communication, and I think it is helping us to communicate more, and to talk about things such as who will do what when we get our own house,I love you with all my heart and soul, have a great day, good luck with all your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

Yes I am very glad we got the books although this first section was more writing then it was reading. Although I think that the other sections will be more reading then what we had originally thought upon looking at it. I'm glad that we're doing the workbooks as I know it will help us communicate better with one another. I'm also glad that we have figured out a schedule to do the workbooks in, and it basically may just give us the whole weekend off!
