a question about laptops  

Well it depends how old your computer is. If you do have wi-fi on your laptop you should have an icon in the bottom right bar with two monitors and if you click it you can choose your connection. Its nothing to seriously worry about. Most laptops will get hot due to lack of air circulation. You could buy a laptop stand which will keep it about an inch off the desk which would help it stay cool. Good Luck.

it is normal for laptops to heat up as the fans only come on when they are needed. A dekstop they run all the time. There are things you can buy to sit the laptop on that act as cooler but it should not be needed. Not sure I understand all that barrety / router / wireless but for the over heating it has no bearing. If it really alamrs you the bios of the machnie should tell you temperture. you could when you fell it hot reboot to bios and see how hot it is. Then check that temp against the normal. But is should not be a worry

I really don't know the answer, but I am very interested in reasding any responses you get,I want to get a new computer and have been trying to decide if I want another desktop of a laptop?

i as well have a laptop and have grown fond of it as well. i can type faster on the laptop computer than i can on a regular sized keyboard. and i know what you mean about the battery near the back of the laptop like that getting feeling hot when it has been on for awhile, my laptop computer does the same thing. i can be logged onto the internet for several hours and the bottom part of the laptop towards the back of it will always feel warm to the touch. i have no idea how long that a person should stay logged onto their laptop at one time. and i guess that that is how that i get my signal for my laptop as well is through the router that we have on the other computer. but i also have a linksys adaptor that i have on the side of my laptop. i went to K-Mart several months ago, and i purchased a small mouse for the laptop. it is much easier to use than the touchpad on the laptop. and i also purchased some earphones for the laptop at Radio Shack.

DID YOU RECEIVED a notification pop up on the screen about your laptop computer's battery is going to end its "life span"?. If that so, meaning that you've to change to new battery OR you've to stay on AC current charging your laptop AC/DC adapter/converter to continuously supply DC power to charge your computer battery. Router running on its own power and it does not has any connection with your laptop computer power supply.

Referring to your words for "hot near the battery/back of it", meaning that, your laptop computer battery meets it life span. I have experienced that way, what I did is I put four (4) used cigarette hard packs underneath my laptop computer to create a natural air flow and to avoid the battery get over heated I used portable fan blow the room temperature air to it. Me too, can enjoy the fresh air blowing...LOL!

OK~ I got a photo history of it and to proof it was my true experience, having said, experience talking and not tongue speaking. The true photo, how I create "air canal"...LOL! before I change the battery to a new one.

Wireless means just that... No wire.
Even when your laptop is plug in... it does not use any wire to go on the internet.
So it does not make any difference whether you plug it in or not.

As for the laptop getting hot.
All computers get warm while in use... and rather hot in summer.
Normal computers have a ventilation system to cool things down.
But I don't know about the laptop.

Oh bunny, that's sad! Why not get a technician to look at it? I don't know much about such things. But I have a laptop too, and if anything happens to it, I am in no position to buy a new one. I hope things get fine for your laptop soon. I, for one, would go nuts if anything happened to my laptop.

hello,i think we should take the right attitude of it,the compuer is a kind of equipment ,of course will produce the large heat at the time,so do not worry about it ,but if the haet reffers to mcuh,then u should check it whether belongs to the right contains

You need a plug to plug into your router, the battery always stays put. If you have a wireless router then you need a wireless card which sits in your laptop. The battery and other workings underneath do get hot but not enough to burn anything. I worried about that too when I first got mine but my technician assured me it was normal.
