I attended a condolence meeting today . A man died at the age of only 45 years. He fought against cancer for long 10 years. He was a brilliant chap and achieved doctorate degree in biological science. In that meeting speakers praised his qualities and said he was a very good and honest man.But when he alived very few persons knew him.No appreciation he got.We generally appreciate a person after his death. But in his life time he/she seldom get appreciation. We say the person was very good.Very rare we say he or she is very good. This a tragedy of life.

Hi bhanusb, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. It's always so sad when someone so young suffers for ten years and still loses the fight. If no one knew what a good man he was, maybe there was a reason for that. He was very young when he got sick. When someone gets sick like your friend, a couple of things happen. Sometimes the ill person retreats from social gatherings and tries to hide his illness or once his friends find out about his illness, they retreat from him because they don't know what to say or do. Suddenly they feel vulnerable. They feel that if their friend can get sick with cancer then they can too. They get scared and want to run away from it. No matter how they react doesn't mean that they don't appreciate and admire that person who is sick. I'm sorry that you feel so badly about this. My prayers are with you and your friend. leenie
