 I have a bias against touch phones - I think it's very difficult to "feel your way" on it. Having a touch pad on the phone means that I have to keep on looking at it while I compose my text message. On the other hand, if I use an phone with an ordinary keypad, I can text without even looking at it.
Do you also prefer keypad over touch pad? Or do you like touch-sensitive phones?

1.  roniroxas (5937) | 10 months ago |  my phone is a touch pad and a keys pad as well. yes i agree with you that it is more complicated to compose message or reply on a touch pad phone. you need to make sure you are looking at the phone completely for you to make sure you are doing the right thing. not like with the keypad as long as you know what buttons to press then it will be done smoothly. as long as i am not busy i use the touch pad.

We do know that some users would be pounding with their thumbs while they are just composing messages, what more if their were using one with a touchpad or screen?

| 3. modstar (4961) | 10 months ago |  Maybe it's just a matter of what we are accustomed to. I haven't tried touchscreen phones yet so i'm still into keypad. I type pretty fast and i'm the type who wants the person on the other side to get the message right away. I don't know if i can do that if i'm on touchpad. It might take awhile for me to get used to it. Good thing is, there are phones that includes both keypad and touchpad. It might take awhile though for me to get one. Lol!

| 4. gracie04 (3782) | 10 months ago |  I've tried using mobile phone with keypad and touch pad and i liked them both.. but i must admit that using mobile phone with keypad is way easier than the touch pad as i'm already used to it.. Having a touch pad phone needs more focus as you need to keep on looking on it while typing/composing your text message.. but i think it's okay because i'm sure you'll get used to it after a week or two.. in fact, i have this thought of buying a touch pad phone, LG KP500 Cookie... i've tried using it for a day and i really really liked it! The virtual QWERTY keyboard is so easy to use because it's very spacious unlike the Apple Iphone plus it boasts a 3.0 Megapixel camera feature!

I used to like the sensitive touch pad of the Palm Organizer but after a long while of using it, its hard to tap and its not good to use anymore. I still prefer to use the keypad on my phone as its more conventional.
